Overview

A mashup between a public broadcasting network and a hyperlocal media site. The site would offer citizens many opportunities to discover, learn, and participate in their online and real community.

    • Many different methods to filter and recommend other content.
    • Share data/info between systems
  • Artist page
  • Multimedia
    • Audio - podcasts and streaming radio
      • Playlists
      • Radio
    • Video - sites like YouTube, etc.

Filtering and aggregation

Find a way to balance community contributions with some form of filtering/editorial process. In other words, allow anybody to create content, but also be able to pick and choose certain content to appear on various sections of the site.

  • Content is self-contained within the user's profile without showing up in the main sections of the site.
    • Main sections of the site (home, music, media, etc.) each have their own panel and view set to pull any nodes set to appear on the 'front' page
    • Subsections (music/reviews, music/features, etc.) are using their own view set to pull anything that's promoted as sticky.
    • In theory, user content will not appear in the main sections of the site without an admin or editor promoting it.
  • By getting contributions from experts/fans representing a wide array of genres/scenes, we should be able to aggregate the content in many different ways.
